How I Make Every Wedding Inclusive and LGBTQ+ Friendly

When couples book me as their wedding DJ & MC, my focus is simple: create an atmosphere where everyone feels celebrated. For me, being LGBTQ+ friendly isn’t a box to tick , it’s about ensuring every couple, no matter their gender or orientation, gets the same energy, respect, and joy on their wedding day.

Language That Includes Everyone

From our very first chat, I avoid assumptions. Instead of saying ‘bride and groom’, I’ll ask about you and your partner. On forms, you’ll find open spaces for names rather than rigid titles. And when it comes to introductions on the night, I’ll announce exactly how you want , whether that’s husband and husband, wife and wife, partners, or simply by your names.

Music Without Limits

Weddings are deeply personal, and music should reflect that. I’ll never assume certain songs are ‘for brides’ or ‘for grooms’. If you want two father-daughter dances, no parent dances at all, or a first dance that breaks every tradition, I’ll make it happen. Your soundtrack should be about you, not stereotypes.

A Confident Celebration

When I introduce you as a married couple, I do it with confidence, pride, and enthusiasm. There’s nothing awkward or different about an LGBTQ+ wedding , it’s a love story like any other, and it deserves to be celebrated with the same energy.

Visibility and Representation

I’m proud to have worked with LGBTQ+ couples, and I share their stories (with permission) because visibility matters. I also partner with venues and suppliers who share these values, so you know your whole wedding team will have your back.

Why This Matters

At its heart, being an LGBTQ+ friendly DJ isn’t about politics or labels. It’s about people. It’s about making sure you feel comfortable, respected, and free to celebrate your love exactly how you want.
