Sat in a medieval moat of an ancient manor, Bassmead Manor is a wonderfully unique wedding venue. Over 300 years old, the manor retains many of its features, while more contemporary spaces have been added on over the years.

The important stuff

With a capacity of up to 150 guests for your ceremony and breakfast and up to 200 evening guests, Bassmead Manor is not on the small side.

With Dove Cottage as your bridal suite and seven en-suite bedrooms in Applecroft Cottage, your nearest and dearest can spend the night in luxury, waking up to a beautiful continental breakfast. From cosy B&B’s to local luxury hotels, Bassmead Manor can provide a great list of local places for the rest of your guests to book.

The turn around

There is ample space for the turnaround to take space at Bassmead Manor, with three good sized barns available. From carrying out your ceremony in the 300-year-old Rickety Barn to drinks in the modern Moat Barn, your guests will then enter the sophisticated Bridge Barn. Once it is time for your evening reception, the Moat and Bridge barn can be opened up into one large open space, perfect for partying!

The Evening

The space can truly transform when it comes to the evening’s entertainment. With a projector screen and wireless mic as standard, your wedding entertainment choice can get started straight away. If you are looking for a way to make the space look even more spectacular, I strongly recommend up-lighters or other forms of lighting as they work wonderfully in the Bridge Barn! As the entertainment license finishes at 11:30 pm, all music must be finished by this time, with all guests off the premises by midnight.

Food and drink

Using only the finest seasonal ingredients, Bassmead Manor aims to create an experience with every meal! Their specialist catering team loves to come up with new creative dishes that showcase their fantastic local produce. From mouthwatering vegan canapes to comforting shepherds pie, Bassmead Manor has an option for everyone. Not only do they use the freshest ingredients, but their menu changes throughout the seasonal months, meaning you are always getting something perfect for your personalised menu.
