This historic venue is seriously versatile, offering a unique and beautiful location for your wedding day. I’m Mike Readings, an award-winning Hertfordshire wedding DJ and entertainer, and I want to share with you why Hatfield House could potentially tick all your boxes!
Hatfield House is full to the brim with history and character, giving you an impressive wedding venue throughout. You will have the option of either the historic Old Palace or the contemporary Riding School, meaning you can choose the perfect space for your dream wedding. Add in the large formal gardens and this is the ideal venue for those all-important wedding photos.

The important stuff
The modern-looking Riding School is perfect for a more intimate wedding with a maximum capacity of 120 guests. For a grand reception, the Old Palace can accommodate up to 250 guests, making it the perfect option! Licensed to hold civil ceremonies or just for your reception, Hatfield House is pretty flexible in meeting your needs. Once you are ready to party the night away, it has space for up to 300 guests.
The turn around
Following your wedding ceremony, your guests will either be moved to the Riding School or outside for drinks. This will give the fantastic venue staff time to transform the hall into a beautiful space for your wedding breakfast and then the evening entertainment. This means there is a seamless transition from the cake cutting to your first dance. The Hatfield House hospitality team are absolute professionals in getting everything set up so you don’t have anything to worry about!

The Evening
The evening reception at Hatfield House is truly amazing, with their built-in sound system, they are ready to help you celebrate in style. The hall is large enough that your tables can be set up at the same time as me and your dancefloor, so you can smoothly go from your breakfast to the party – No messing around! In fact, once the lights are set for your evening entertainment the hall completely transforms into something magical, giving you a real WOW factor. The layout also gives your more reserved guests space to sit and chat if they want to avoid all the moves being strutted on the dancefloor.
Overnight Accommodation
One place where Hatfield House shines is with their understanding when it comes to cultural weddings. The staff can put their hand to any wedding, with a specialist on staff for Jewish, Asian and Muslim weddings. Their amazing caterers can provide kosher meals, ensuring your day can go off without a hitch.
