A 15th-century barn with serious wow factor
The Barns at Redcoats were refurbished in 2018 and now offer a beautiful venue with a quirky historic look. I’m Mike Readings, an award-winning wedding DJ and entertainer based in Hertfordshire, and today I am going to share a review of The Barns at Redcoats with you.
This 15th-century barn has a serious wow factor that can’t be topped by many other venue options. This venue mixes stunning historic features with a more modern stylish design, along with 4 acres of beautiful gardens. The barn itself has a fantastic alcove which is perfect for your wedding entertainment to set up in, making sure your evening reception is rocking!
The important stuff
The Barns at Redcoats offers bespoke wedding plans, so you can tailor your wedding day to your exact requirements with up to 140 guests. Equally, Redcoats can be the ideal venue if you are looking for something small, intimate and romantic. The Barns at Redcoats are licensed for civil ceremonies, as well as the farmhouse, and the grain store for outdoor ceremonies. When it comes to the evening reception you can invite up to 200 guests to help you celebrate.
The turn around
Your guests will be moved to a covered patio area whilst the staff turn the barn around, ready for your evening entertainment to start. You and your guests can take advantage of the gardens to capture some extremely beautiful photos during this time. The venue may scream rustic in its appearance, but it has plenty of sockets for your suppliers to set up, as well as a lighting system which looks great!

The Evening
The Barns has a perfect alcove for me to set up in, meaning more space for your guests to strut their stuff on the dancefloor. Not only that, but there is plenty of room for a LED dancefloor and a photobooth to be installed. The venue has high ceilings that are not only great for photos but perfect for your entertainment to be able to create a party atmosphere.
The Food
With an award-winning catering team, Redcoats will not disappoint you when it comes to your wedding food. Canapes and fine dining to hog roast and bacon butties, they have it all. Whether you choose a sit-down option or a buffet, you will definitely love your meal!
Highly recommend
I definitely recommended The Barns at Redcoats, from its location to its rustic look, it has everything you could want for a beautiful wedding, including an exclusive vibe because of how remote it feels!
